Kleenex...Shine Absorbing Sheets

I first came across these absorbing sheets in Superdrug but decided against buying them for some reason but then I came across them again in my local Home Bargains store for only 69p so obviously had to pick them up because they were so cheap !

They claim to take away excess oil from your face whilst keeping your make up intact. The inside of the lid has a sticky tab so that when you pull it open one of the sheets is stuck to it for easy access instead of fiddling about trying to make sure you only take one out. They come in a packet of 50 and are the perfect size so can be used discretely and are purple with a pattern on one side and plain on the other which is the side you dab onto your oily patches. I actually really liked these sheets they definitely done the job  and you can see the oil on the sheet ( as you can see from the picture, Sorry! wanted to show you they worked) and it does keep your make up intact and because they are powder free its not adding anything to your face. I would recommend these to anyone who notices their face becoming oily through out the day.

You can pick these up from the likes of Superdrug,Boots etc for £2.99 or from Home Bargins for 69p

Mua...Lipsticks

I've been slowly but surely adding to my lipstick collection and I recently picked up another two by Make Up Academy. The two shades I got are shade 4 which is a really nice light subtle pink and the second one is shade 16 nectar which is a lovely nude orangey colour which is perfect for me as I feel a bright orange wouldn't suit me.

I really love these two as they glide on to the lips because they are so soft and moisturising and they give such a nice colour. They do need touching up every few hours but that's something I can live with as they are just so good and such a bargain. I will definitely be  picking up more of these.

You can pick up these lipsticks from Superdrug or order online at http://www.muastore.co.uk/ for £1.00 ( not including delivery if ordering online)

Mua...Out There Plumping Lip Gloss

I picked up two of these plumping lip glosses by Make Up Academy in shades "Sienna & Nude"

I've tried a plumping lip gloss before from another brand but I didn't find it plumped my lips up at all and the colour wasn't great so thought I'd give Mua's ones a shot and I'm so glad I did. The sienna one is a lovely orangey colour which is so nice on, the nude one as you may have guessed doesn't have much colour to it as it is nude but I like to put this over my lipstick by mua in shade bare (I've done a post on it )

Now the plumping part... It actually works !! You can feel your lips tingling so you know it's working and your lips definitely do look a bit more plump. I was really happy with these and they are such a great price. I've already decided il be picking up more shades especially the shocking pink one. It's love.

You can pick these up at Superdrug or order online at http://www.muastore.co.uk/ for £2.00 ( not including delivery if ordering online)

Mua...Nail Varnish

I bought this nail varnish a while ago but completely forgot i had it (due to my growing collection) so thought id give it a try and i absolutely loved the colour on! its a lovely reddy orange colour, perfect for summer (if we get a summer that is!)  Its by Make Up Academy and is called Bright Coral and only cost one pound ! absolute bargain, the only down side to Mua's nail varnishes are the brushes, i cant really explain what it is about them i just find it hard to apply because of them but i know that Mua have been changing the bottles of their varnish so hopefully they have changed the brushes as well, so looks like a trip to Superdrug is on the cards to try out the newly packaged bottles.

You can pick this up from Superdrug or order online at  http://www.muastore.co.uk/ for £1.00 ( not including delivery if ordering online)

Mua...Lipsticks

Lipstick is quite a new addition to my make up collection as I never used to wear it. I would always looks at all the ranges and colours and loved all the bold bright ones but I felt I wasn't brave enough to actually give them a go so didn't want to waste money on products I knew I wouldn't even try but then one day I was looking at the Mua lipstick range in Superdrug and decided to pick up a couple as they are only a pound so if I never did wear them I wouldn't be wasting a lot of money.

The first one I picked up was shade 14 "bare" .... So was playing it very safe with a nude one. I don't have much to compare it with because as I said I never used to wear or buy lipstick but I really liked this lipstick as it glided on as it was so soft and didn't dry my lips out and the colour itself is great however I found it didn't have very much staying power so better to carry this lipstick in your handbag to touch up. I have been using this a lot recently with some nude lip gloss over it.

The second one I was bought was shade 12 which as you can see from the pictures is a bright shimmery pink.
I was really looking forward to trying this out ( after working up the courage) as I really loved the colour. I don't know if it was because of the shimmer but it felt quite rough when applying it which I didn't like. The colour is really pigmented when applied but does need touching up every few hours so best taking it with you in your handbag. I actually really like this lipstick so il be trying to be brave a lot more and get some good use out of it.

You really can't go wrong with lipsticks at a pound especially if you're just starting out with lipsticks like me and they have some really nice colours which il be picking up.

As i said earlier in this post you can pick these up from Superdrug or order online at http://www.muastore.co.uk/ for £1.00 ( not including delivery if ordering online)

Is there any colours from their range you recommend ?

My search for instant volume

Once I've used my straighteners my hair becomes flat and lifeless so I've been looking for products that give instant volume to my hair without leaving it sticky.

Firstly i picked up the Schwarzkopf got2b powderful volumizing styling powder

It says on the back.. How to use : Shake a small amount into your palm and rub hands together. You'll see the powder disappear but still feel it on your hands. Distribute into dry hair, focusing on the roots, for an instant root boost and volume. Tips For an extra volume boost, shake powder directly into the roots of your hair, using your fingers to work it in and create big, volumised styles.

I apply this powder directly to my roots and rub in until i am happy with the volume, you do have to be careful though as it does come out as a white powder so have to make sure its rubbed in properly. This powder definitely gives my roots volume but is very sticky and is really hard to brush out and i also found that when i would wash my hair one wash wouldnt remove it completely so two shampoos are needed. I also found the volume didnt last very long but if i just put my fingers through the roots it would help bring back the volume.

You can pick this up from the likes of superdrug, boots etc for £4.05 but if you're close enough to a Savers store then you can pick this up for £2.50 which is where i got mine.

I also picked up the VO5 Dry backcomb spray

It says on the back
  • Instantly adds fullness for amazing volume
  • Wont damage your hair like backcombing can
  • Can be used as a 'pick me up' style re-activator
How to use.. Spray evenly onto dry hair, concentrating at the roots and holding the can approx 30cm away from your hair. Rub into roots with your fingertips.

I bought this spray in the hope i could get the volume i wanted without the product leaving my hair sticky and hard to brush. I spray this directly onto my roots and rub in with my fingertips. Unfortunately i didn't find this spray gave me any volume at all which is disappointing as i found myself having to backcomb my hair which really does defeat the purpose of the spray.

You can pick this up from the likes of superdrug, boots etc for £3.69.

Looks like i still have to search for the perfect instant volume product but until then i shall be using the Schwarzkopf volumizing powder and just putting up with the stickiness because my hair is in need of a lot of volume.
